This is all great, and I think you'll be able to bend LANdb to do the
things you want. The only issue is just how much stuff you want to put
in. The attributes system will allow you to add whatever you want to
track per host to the application. I suggest you have a look at .91 in
a couple days. :)
As for your idea of an IT inventory system, I think that's a pretty deep
tangent at this point. I don't want secretaries storing serial numbers
of staplers in this thing. :) That's an interesting idea for a project,
though. :) On that note, there's plenty of sample code in LANdb that
you could use to write your own app, if you'd like (isn't the GPL great?
:) ).
