Welcome to Avenir Web, an internet service for the computer user. This page will give you a short introduction to who we are, and what we're here to do.

The site is owned and run by a Computer Science student at Indiana State University (please read the disclaimer at the bottom of the front page). It's a project independent of the CS curriculum, and one that has led the owner on quite a lengthy, involved tangent. The goal of this site is to distribute computer-related, educational material to anyone with an inquisitve mind.

Tech Support? Help for a Newbie? General Info? Yeah, we've got that.

What you'll find: Information on software, hardware, games, operating systems, the internet, and more.

What you can do with it: Learn more about computers, increase your productivity, become a more knowledgeable user, solve a problemwith your computer, or just pass a couple hours learning.

Why it's important: Computers are everywhere, and they're here to stay. Can you think of a job out there where computers aren't important? Knowing how to run and maintain your computer is essential. Besides, can you imaging life without a computer by your side? We certainly hope not. :)

Back on the main page, are links to the main sections of Avenir Web. Below these links you'll find links to important news stories. If you've got a news story you think should appear on Avenir Web, why not drop us a line?

One important, final note: Avenir Web is a service designed for the user, by a user. Keep in mind that without your input, this site would starve. So please don't hesitate to send in your comments and suggestions. You can reach us through the Contact page, by leaving posting on the Message Board, or by emailing the webmaster directly.
